Terrain
Singletrack cross-country. Roots, rocks, stream crossings on well-constructed & maintained single-track. The Hood River area offers great climbs, fast descents and switchbacks with a few dirt road sections.

Day One: We start at high noon at the Hood River Inn on the banks of the Columbia River. Our first ride in the Mt. Hood National Forest will include route on some of our favorite trails including Bennet Pass, Gunsight Ridge and the twisty Gumjauc. The descents were built for mountain bikers so you’ll be feeling the flow in the first few miles. Our route is on the steep North Western side of Mt. Hood Foothills with views of Mt. Hood. After the ride, we will visit Everybody’s Brewery before dinner at the Double Mountain Brewery in downtown Hood River. Try classics like Kolsch and Hop Lava or the night’s specials in cask condition or on nitro.

Day Two: Today we ride classic Hood River singletrack on the rolling flanks of Mt. Hood. The trail varies from old mountain paths to new progressive mountain bike trails. Long climbs and amazing, ripping descents are on the menu. A much needed lunch will be served at a Forest Service look out tower so you can enjoy the view with out worrying about riding off the trail. Finish the ride with a seemingly endless descent down Surveyor’s Ridge. Beer tasting follows at Full Sail Brewery, the original Hood River brewery and a benchmark for craft breweries everywhere.

Day Three: We travel once again up into the Mt Hood National Forest for a third day of incredible singletrack. The long point to point ride starts at the base of Mt. Hood Meadows Ski Area and ends on the banks of the Hood River a few thousand feet below. Last but not least, enjoy beer tastings and trail tails at Big Horse Brewery, in historic downtown Hood River. Try their Easy Blonde, Pocket Creek Porter or Pale Rider, all sure to aid recovery from a challenging day in the saddle.
